The main means of transportation in Sri Lanka is roads, rail, sea, air and pipe lines in a very few occasions. Of them the most prominent inland method is roads while the next is the train service which is totally owned by the government. When we talk about the transportation on the roads, both the government and the private sector has involved in passenger transportation. The private sector is preferred by the public as their faster services and availability.
